chromatic.world

chromatic.world is a web app that I made with Svelte.js and the Materialify component library for an independent study course at my university over the course of four months. This proejct was also submitted to a hackathon where it won prizes for Best Website Overall and Best Design Overall.

The purpose of this independent study course was to learn a new framework and apply this new knowledge by creating a tangible, complex product. I chose to create seven differen JavaScript-based games (one for each color of the rainbow).

For this study, I delved into several areas outside of my comfort zone:

• I chose to make my product game-based, as I had little to no experience coding my own games, and it was something that had always interested me.
• I intentionally created the design to be whimsical and fun unlike any other web app I had used before, and I used every color in the rainbow, whereas I normally prefer a more minimalist palette.
• I worked with a backend for the first time to create a login system for chromatic.world. I used Firebase and Firestore to create and connect a backend to my site.
